Abstract

The income measurement of the multiple land uses has been missed because the past monoculture agriculture development policy. Official silviculture income statistics take into account commercial final output, and intermediate output is forgotten. The most valuable Mediterranean forest commercial products are grazing resources and other minor products. This research shows that cork oak grazing resources, in a representative large forest farm of Cádiz and Málaga sierras, account more operating income than the cork stripping income. Furthermore, commercial total cork oak income is significantly influenced by holding gains. Government subsidies could be a efficiency and equity way in maintain environmental values and employments in cork oak mountain Mediterranean areas in south of Spain.
