Abstract
En esta artículo se estudia la competitividad del sector exportador de hortalizas españolas en los últimos veinte años. En primer lugar se trata la evolución de las exportaciones en el periodo comprendido entre 1999 y 1980. Una vez estudiada la evolución se analizaran los principales productos exportados, sus orígenes provinciales y sus destinos. Posteriormente se analizará la competencia existente y la competitividad estructural tomando como referencia los índices de la ventaja comparativa revelada y el índice de comercio intraindustrial. En las hortalizas estudiadas en la UE, el IVCR tiene valores negativos. Esto quiere decir que la UE tiene una desventaja comparativa, sobre todo en melón. Respecto al ICI, los valores son próximos a uno, lo que indica que tiene un comercio intraindustrial. Al realizar el estudio por países, en general, España, Italia, Holanda y Bélgica Luxemburgo tienen ventajas comparativas (IVCR positivos) y el resto de países desventajas comparativas.. Respecto al ICI, en general, España, Suecia, Finlandia tienen un comercio interindustrial, mientras que Holanda e Italia tienen un carácter intraindustrial......This paper analyzes the external competitivity of the Spanish vegetables exports in the last 20 years. First, it deals with the horticulture export and import evolution. After studying the evolution the main exported products, their provincial origins and their destinations were analyzed. Later on it will be analyzed the existent competition and the structural competitiveness taking like reference the indexes of the revealed comparative advantage and the index of trade intraindustrial. In the vegetables studied in the UE, the IVCR has negative securities. This means that the UE it has a comparative disadvantage, mainly in melon. Regarding the CII, the securities are next to one, what indicates that he/she has a trade intraindustrial. When carrying out the study for countries, in general, Spain, Italy, Holland and Belgium Luxemburg has comparative advantages (positive IVCR) and the rest of countries comparative disadvantages.
