Aspectos selvícolas y económicos de los pinares de Pinus sylvestris L. en el Sistema Central

Después de introducir el concepto y significado de la selvicultura y de la ordenación forestal, se presenta la gestión que se aplica en los montes de pino silvestre (Pinus sylvestris L.) del Sistema Central, describiendo los tratamientos selvícolas más habituales y las actuaciones de infraestructura necesarias. A continuación se estudia el valor económico de estos pinares, para lo cual se reseñan sus beneficios directos o productivos, se analizan las implicaciones productivas de la gestión, y se presentan datos monetarios de algunos de ellos (madera y leña). También se analizan los beneficios o utilidades indirectas (medioambientales y sociales) de estos montes y su posible valoración económica, en ocasiones muy superior a los beneficios directos.........After introducing the concept and the meaning of silviculture and forest management, the treatments applied to Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) forest stands in the “Sistema Central” (Spain) are presented, describing the most usual silvicultural treatments and the necessary infrastructure performance in these woodlands. The economic value of these forest systems is analysed. Therefore, the direct profits are described and the forest production implications of the woodland management are studied. Financial information is displayed for some of them (wood and firewood). Also, the indirect benefits of these Scots pine forests (environmental and social) and the feasible economic value are studied, that, sometimes they are much higher than the direct profits.
