Abstract

Serbia is nowadays one of the most underdeveloped post-socialist countries. The main reason for unfavorable performances of its economy lies in the uncompleted economic transition. In this paper, the key problems of transition are defined, together with the emphasized need for a qualitative swich that would, supported by domestic knowledge, imply a completion of the privatization process and an improvement of institutional quality, fully respecting our informal and congruent formal institutions.
