Although the participation of women in the workplace is increasing, inequality of opportunities is observed in relation to men. This phenomenon is evident in family businesses, specifically in government bodies and management positions. This article presents the results of a research carried out with family businesses in the central-south region of the State of Tlaxcala to identify and analyze the participation of women in decision making, the above with the application of a survey as an instrument to obtain the information under the type of transversality. Among the results, it was identified that a low percentage of family businesses have government bodies and that the participation of women is low, since the position of general director is held by a man in 63.0% of the cases.
