Resultados De La Medición Y Análisis De Competencias Emprendedoras Para La Creación De Agroempresas. Experiencia De La Zona Maya De Campeche

This study presents the results of an administration instrument used to measure and analyze the entrepreneurial skills of young people between the ages of 18 and 29 years in order to determine their skill level as entrepreneurs for starting or managing a successful business in the Mayan region in the northern part of the state of Campeche, located in southeastern Mexico. The cultural, social and political conditions of the mostly indigenous population have remained at a social and economic stalemate, a situation that has not allowed them to take full advantage of the development opportunities provided by public and private entities for starting a business and/or for growing it effectively. The results show that an orientation toward entrepreneurial business (agribusiness) development is more common than the capacity to do so in the youth of this region, suggesting that these young people may have the qualities for starting a business, but lack technical and vocational training for that purpose. Therefore, vocational and professional training aimed at entrepreneurial development is more influential on entrepreneurship than the possession of personal qualities for suited for business. The results suggest that institutions of higher education, government, private institutions and other related organizations must join forces to identify those individuals with the best entrepreneurial skills, encourage support for the creation of agribusinesses, and provide the necessary training and information for their growth.
