Educational farms and new social roles in rural areas

Abstract

The article attempts to indicate to what extent initiatives associated in the Educational Farm Network fit into the idea of ​​social agriculture. The aim of the research was, among others, to indicate the strengths and weaknesses of educational farms and their resources in the perspective of the development of the idea of ​​education outside the school walls. As the research shows, educational farms are not only a place of work for farmers finding their way in new social roles, but also generate new jobs for teachers, local artists or animators of classes with children and school youth. Educational farms are also an excellent example of showing the progress that has been made in modern agriculture in the field of environmental protection, which can be a significant contribution to breaking the stereotypical thinking about agricultural production - especially on large-area farms.
