Abstract

Justice is one of the basic values of ethics, which means that, like other values (goodness, truth, beauty), the concept of justice has a strong positive emotional charge. For this reason, this term is often used in the so-called persuasive logic, then it is used to manipulate views and attitudes. It is abused to achieve political, economic, social, etc. goals. From a formal point of view, many principles of distributive justice can be distinguished, such as: "the same to everyone", "to everyone according to their merits", etc. The choice of the principle of fair distribution of rewards or punishments is an arbitrary decision, they are equally correct. It is only important that the recipients who equally meet the adopted principle are treated in the same way. The very choice of the principle of distribution, reward or punishment is an indicator of the worldview that determines this choice. In practice, however, an ethical value is often used to justify a choice that is in fact made for pragmatic reasons. The justification of this choice uses the mechanisms of manipulation related to the logic of persuasion.
