A Century of Polish Regional and Spatial Planning

Author

  • Gorzelak, Grzegorz

Abstract

The article presents a critical approach to the history of spatial planning and regional planning in Poland in the years 1918–2022. The most important planning approaches are presented and then confronted with the spatial processes taking place in Poland. This is a slightly modified version of my chapter entitled Polish regional and spatial planning, a short account of the 20th plus century, which appeared in the book A New Beginning? Spatial Planning and Research in Europe between 1945 and 1975, D. Briesen, W. Strubelt (eds.), Campus Verlag, Frankfurt–New York 2022, pp. 71–92.
