Abstract

The article assesses the ownership changes of a large-scale farm from the perspective of its employees. These farms, operating, for example, in the form of capital companies, are currently an important place of work for the rural population. The text presents the results of qualitative research (10 free-form interviews) conducted among people managing such farms located in Pągów (Opole Voivodeship, Namysłów County), as well as with people employed on such farms. The research aimed to: reconstruct the professional biographies of employees; attempt to assess their activity – to what extent they were subjective participants of the changes and to what extent they were objective participants when ownership transformations occurred without their knowledge, although they directly concerned them; determine how the transformations affected the situation of employees, their treatment by owners and management staff.
