Produkcja oraz handel wybranych warzyw będących głównym źródłem karotenoidów w Polsce i na świecie

Abstract

Vegetables such as carrots and tomatoes are eaten for many years. The increasing consumer awareness of their pro-health properties and the fashion for healthy food, may cause higher consumption, production and acreage cultivation of these vegetables. The study characterizes the selected vegetables, that are a major source of carotenoids (carrots and tomatoes), in terms of global and Polish production in the years 2009 to 2013 (data for the world) and in the years 2000 to 2013 (data for Polish), and presents the market for these products with a focus on major global exporters and importers of analyzed vegetables. In addition, also carrots and tomatoes trade in Poland in the years 2000 - 2012 were presented in terms of volume and value assessments. Its also identifies the major partners in the Polish foreign trade in those products in 2012. / Synopsis. Warzywa takie jak marchew i pomidory spożywane są od wielu lat. Wraz ze wzrostem świadomości konsumentów o ich właściwościach prozdrowotnych oraz modzie na zdrową żywność ich spożycie, a co za tym idzie produkcja oraz powierzchnia upraw może się zwiększać. W pracy scharakteryzowano wybrane warzywa będące głównym źródłem karotenoidów (marchew i pomidory), określono światową oraz polską produkcję tych warzyw w latach 2009-2013 (dane dla świata) oraz w latach 2000-2013 (dane dla Polski), a także przedstawiono rynek tych produktów, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem największych globalnych eksporterów i importerów analizowanych warzyw. Ponadto zobrazowano handel marchwią i pomidorami w Polsce w latach 2000-2012 w ujęciu ilościowym i wartości ocen. Wskazano również głównych partnerów Polski w handlu zagranicznym tymi produktami w 2012 r.
