Abstract

The aim of the study was to analyze the changes in the floricultural production in the world as one of the points to evaluate its future development in Poland. Studies show the further growth of floriculture in the world in the last two decades, accompanied by a marked changes in the relations between the branches of floriculture and plant groups in different countries, leading to changes in the geographical structure of production. First of all, the withdrawal from production under cover in the developed countries dynamically occurs, mostly cut flowers, and the development of this production in African countries and Latin America for export is observed. In developed countries, the increasing importance of pot plants and ornamental nursery production is visible, however with slowing acreage growth, which may indicate a gradual saturation of the domestic demand. / Synopsis.
