Abstract

The main objective of the study was to evaluate the potential of investment attractiveness of rural areas in Poland. An attempt was made at setting up a hierarchy and grouping of municipalities and regions in Poland in terms of a synthetic index of attractiveness for investors. In addition, an analysis was made of spatial differentiation in this index for rural, urban-rural and urban areas. A matrix of indicators and a correlation weighting method were used to assess the indicators, which allowed for determination of a synthetic index PAI1 for the national economy. The study showed that the highest rating in rural communes received provinces Śląskie, Podkarpackiego, Wielkopolskie, Zachodniopomorskie, Pomorskie and Dolnośląskie. / Synopsis.
