Abstract

The mineral fertilizers market is one of the most important markets for agricultural production. The purpose of this article is to present the financial condition of selected companies operating in the market of mineral fertilizers in Poland after the EU accession. It is worth noting that the prices of mineral fertilizers in Poland rose sharply after 2004 and the domestic fertilizer industry is the major supplier to the Polish market. According to studies, the economic and financial situation of fertilizer industry has improved significantly in the studied years. The improvement is reflected in a growth of revenues and profitability for all major mineral fertilizer manufacturers in Poland. A high increase in profits in the Poland's largest nitric and compound fertilizer factories was noted in 2004-2011. / Synopsis. W latach 2004-2011 w największych w Polsce wytwórniach nawozów azotowych i wieloskładnikowych odnotowano wysoki wzrost zysków.
