Procesy Koncentracji W Światowym Przemyśle Środków Produkcji Dla Rolnictwa

Abstract

Celem opracowania jest ukazanie procesów koncentracji zachodzących w przemyśle środków produkcji dla rolnictwa, a szczególnie w branży nasiennej i środków ochrony roślin, oraz przedstawienie skutków tych zmian. Do przedstawienia procesów koncentracji w sektorze środków produkcji dla rolnictwa wykorzystano dane z opracowania pt. Konzernatlas Daten und Fakten über die Agrar- und Lebensmittelindustrie 2017. Do oceny poziomu i zmian koncentracji na rynku środków produkcji dla rolnictwa wykorzystano dwa indeksy: wskaźnik dyskretny oraz Indeks Herfindahla-Hirschmana (HHI). Mimo tego, że indeksy wskazują, że w tym sektorze mamy obecnie do czynienia z umiarkowaną koncentracją, to jednak nastąpił wyraźny proces oligopolizacji. W wyniku tego procesu cztery korporacje zdominowały rynek nasion i środków ochrony roślin. Dzięki uzyskanym patentom dominujące korporacje przejmują znaczną część obrotu nasionami, ponieważ umowy zabraniają rolnikom przechowywania lub dzielenia się ziarnem z innymi farmerami. Ponadto wprowadzane przez korporacje uprawy GMO potrzebują określonych środków chemicznych, które znajdują się w ofercie producentów tych nasion.
