Abstract

The aim of the study is to analyze the importance of renewable energy for local development on the example of commune Daszyna that from the point of view of the renewable energy implementation’s effectiveness stands out from the rest of the communes in the Lodz voivodeship. Commune is a good example to follow because in spite of not having the appropriate conditions for the use of sophisticated methods of obtaining energy from renewable sources, efficient use of the least complicated and most common renewable energy sources, ie. energy solar, wind and biomass. In the study authors put the argument that the sources of renewable energy should be treated as a new potential source of rural development.The study contains a presentation of projects implementing renewable energy sources in the commune and their potential impact on the local development of commune and the conclusions of the research of local society selected commune on the priorities and expected results of economic and social benefits from the use of renewable energy sources
