Kebijakan Pengelolaan Ruang Dan Keberlanjutan Kawasan Karst Maros Pangkep Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan

Abstract

Maros Pangkep Karst Area known as KKMP is a unique karst ecosystem in South Sulawesi. It spands from Bulusaraung in the north Maros and Pangkep in the south. The 40.000 ha of karst ecosystemis rich in flora and fauna as well a scientific, social, culture and economic values. The area, however is under pressure from competing use of economic activities, such as mining for cement industries and marble. This paper attempts to assess sustainable policy management for the area using On Balance multi criteria analysis The result of the study shows that business as usual in Karst Maros and Pangkep management policy will not sustain from environment dimension, or economic and social culture dimension. This studi offers the KKMP Management with conservation and community ecotourism based approach.
