Abstract
A régióban beadott telepkorszerűsítési támogatási igény 47,2 milliárd Ft. - The number of livestock farmers in the West-Transdanubia Region has decreased significantly in the past period. The comparative proportion of cropping and livestock farms is increasingly diverging, to the latter’s detriment. Meanwhile, the stock breeder has to live up to several community and national regulations. To meet these requirements, a subvention opportunity was offered in 2007 by the European Agricultural and Rural Development Fund (EARDF). I carried out a survey among the potential competitors. The majority make realisation of the investment dependent on the following issues: potential changes in farm produce prices; availability of the necessary forage-growing land area; and whether farmers can retain usage of these lands. Other major influencing factors are how the rates of support will be changing in the future and how the new SPS (Single Payment Scheme) system will inspire livestock farming, as well as the conditions of taxation and what kinds of alternative measures will help or hinder the farmers. With the introduction of the preferred changes in the economic conditions system, the provision of long-lasting leaseholds, the correct development of the support system, and serious coaching on the new system, we will have the opportunity to slow the falling tendency in animal sectors, which is also necessary.
