Abstract

Effects of price policy in cotton network in francophone Zone Africa: an empirical analysis - Price instability is a characteristic of agricultural markets. The reduction of that instability has been for a long time a major objective in many countries. The integrated subsidiary cotton organization in many Francophone Zone Africa (FZA) countries has intended to alleviate this instability. The purpose of this paper is to analyze relationship between integrated cotton organization and stability of real prices. There is also a contribution to the debate in progress between opponents and followers of the privatization of the integrated cotton organization in FZA. The stabilization-support device of the integrated subsidiary cotton in FZA is operative in the production organization, the management of farms and the technical innovations. The decomposition of effects of price instability into anticipated and non-anticipated shocks shows they have an impact on the cotton organization in certain producer countries.
