Comment faire face a la crise financiere dans les pays industrialises : le cas de la CEE

Abstract

Three main aspects of the agricultural financial crisis are examined. First, the policy adjustment problem : the progression from unlimited support through price reductions and stabilisers to production quotas is likely to continue. However, environmental considerations and international pressures may modify this trend. Second, the farm adjustment problem : shrinking farm margins and incomes may not lead to continued exodus from rural areas if capital values fall and multiple jobs are available. Third, the international adjustment problem : effective decoupling of support from the market could reconcilie internal pressures with external concerns and responsibilities.
