Abstract

From multi-functionality to multi- valuation of agricultural activities - Based on a discussion of issues and debates which focus on multifunctionality and after considering the continence of the publicness which goes with multifunctional activities, this paper argues that considering multifunctionality within public policies leads to conception of decentralized processes of standardization in three arenas: public, private and collective. Efficiency of the French public contractual device to enhance multifunctionality (CTE), viewed such as a new pattern for public policy, is depending on a transformation of professional competencies system.
