Abstract

This paper reviews three questions which have to do with agricultural employment Is there a change in the factors which bear upon the agricultural employment volume ? Is there a change in agricultural job characteristics and in occupational trajectories leading to these jobs ? Is agricultural employment still a key variable of rural employment ? The authors underscore the more conspicuous dynamics, investigate how they could be modified in the near future and question the need for reassessing the classical analytical frameworks explaining agricultural employment trends.
