Abstract

The survival of micro-farms as studied in a precise area of the Pyrénées foothill, can be explained by the variety of agricultural combined activities embraced by the famely groups living on traditionnal breeding systems whereas others diversify their activities and turn to processing, commercializing and, services. Those diversified strategies follow the social and economical changes noticed in the famely groups themselves.
