Les firmes multinationales : évolutions structurelles et stratégies face à la mondialisation

Abstract

The globalization is a turbulent and incertain business environment. The increasing multinationalisation of enterprises, the speeding up of innovation and deregulation have induced an intensification of competition and the breakdown of static entry barriers into industries. Multinational corporations combine two growth stategies based, on the first hand on mergers and acquisitions, to build quickly significant market shares, and, on the other hand, on strategic alliances aiming at the regulation of the modes of competition within industries in constant evolution. The spreading of strategic alliances indicates the emergence of new forms of organisation of work which, in turn, lead to the development of networked firms and knwledge based oligopolies.
