Abstract

Northern as well as southern style of state intervention often led to mitigated results in black Africa. However, new conditions seem to favor recently more appropriate development practices, founded on the due recognition of peasants as full fledged decision makers. In the wake of various initiatives, new rural organizations have emerged during the last few dozens of years. Moste of them are focused on agricultural development. This fresh peasant movement constitutes a true social innovation. In order to secure its success, redefining the role of each partner in the development is urgent. It is also urgent to seek operational synergies, capable of ending in concrete actions, benefiting to peasants as well as to collectivity.
