Transition structurelle et contrainte socio-politique : quelle issue pour les agricultures d'Europe centrale

Abstract

Socio-political constraint is those which by its freezing effects could act upon the transition process towards market economy. This study intend to analyse structural factors which hinder agriculture from restructuring, like the legacy of agrarian structures existing before collectivisation, and the inertia of the collectivist agrarian model. Transforming social relationship inherited from communist period appears to be the main stake. So, working out privatisation laws rose during several months a wery controversial political debate. Changing ownership relations clash with the opinions of agricultural workers, and with the ideas they have about their future social position in the new economic system.
