Stratégies foncières des agriculteurs dans quatre zones agricoles fragiles

Abstract

The future of agriculture land : farmer's strategy for extension The study of the farmer's land strategy in four french areas where supply of land is high shows that farmers adjust their demand for extension to the supply. We cannot talk about fallow land development even if some factors of risk remain. The availability of labour is essential in the demand of land by farmers. The economic growth of farms requires the development of their area. There is a threshold of about 180 acres beyond which the farms do not increase : so, more supply of land does not result in the development of extensive farms but gives more liberty for the farmers in their research on optimal combination of their production factors.
