Attitudes sociales, éthiques et civiques des jeunes ruraux

Author

Abstract

Four types have emerged from a survey about ethical and civic attitudes of young people from rural areas : 1) a type which is religious and traditional, whose social model respects hierarchy and authority and rejects class antagonism (it corresponds to a type that Michelat and Simon had found) ; 2) a type which is related to the left, agnosticism and protest, in favour of collective forms of social organisation (unions) ; 3) a type which has humanist values, close to the centre, which favours values of solidarity (such as an intervention fora colleague unfairly penalised, or to fight against racism), their religious orientation is defined by vague beliefs ; 4) a type which is atheist and individualist which is opposed to or ignores the idea of common interest with others and avoids interventions of solidarity.
