Abstract

If the agricultural and rural changes are well known in broad outline, the links between changes in agriculture and changes in rural space have been much less well appreciated. It seems clear that the interactions and interdependancies between an economic sector and spatial processes have not been clearly identified. Our intention in this paper is to examine the reasons for these omissions and to propose some answers from work that has been carried out on the relationship between agricultural and rural change.
