Du postulat de cohérence à l'hypothèse que les comportements sont significatifs d'une tension intra-psychique

Abstract

Why not talk earlier of an assumption rather than of a consistency postulate about behaviour and why not inquiring about inconsistent behaviour (i. e. behaviour ill-adapted to situations and objectives) ? A more general assumption is then that behaviour is significant i. e. that it has a meaning as a reduction of an intra-psychic tension, either to adapt to reality needs (consistent behaviour case) or to try to lessen unconscious anxieties, for example persecution anxiety or depressive anxiety. This kind of explanation, complementary to socio-economic analyses, is likely to help farm advisers in cases which would otherwise be difficult to understand.
