Abstract

On the rural mentality and change - Twenty-six individual studies followed by interviews enable a comparison between technical evolution, the change in social structure, in behaviour and in mentality to be made. In conclusion the hypothesis is put forward that if equipment in the branches studied have changed considerably, behaviour and structures have followed with some delay, whereas the mentatity is still largely that of another age. Many people have not the mental structures necessary to understand life to-day, and feel ill at ease.
