Author

Listed:
  • Mornet, P.

Abstract

In his paper, the writer first considers the direct and indirect costs of disease, the evolution in pathology over the last twenty years (influenced partly by the evolution of stock-reasing techniques and the importation of animal stock especially in the case of poultry), the methods used to combat disease. Special mention is made of the need for the application of economic principles to the estimation and prevention of pathological risks, in conjunction with the increase in our knowledge of epidemics.
