Les économistes français et la rente foncière entre 1830 et 1870

Abstract

The essential object of the present article is: 1. to make investigations about the reasons that push the French economists belonging wholly to the « Liberal School » to be interested so closely between 1830 and 1870 in the question of the rent and especially in Ricardiàn's theory of differentia! rent that will be at the center of their debates; 2. to investigate about their analysis of this last theory; 3. to present their defenses of the landed interest very logically involved in the Ricardian's analysis. Beyond the liberal « Credo » that closely connect them these debates and analysis allow to foresee not only elements of conflicts or even of rupture, in the heart of this movement of thought, but also the arbitrariness of some groupings realised by the historians of the Economic Thought.
