Comfortable Housing Projects for Tibetan Farmers and Herdsmen from the Perspective of Poverty Alleviation

Abstract

Through questionnaire survey and field interview of farmers and herdsmen, this paper studied the comfortable housing projects implemented since 2006 in Namling County of Shigatse City. Taking the comfortable housing projects in Namling County as an example, this paper elaborated the relationship between the poverty alleviation and the comfortable housing projects for farmers and herdsmen and discussed the necessities for implementing comfortable housing projects in the context of the poverty alleviation. There are some problems at the same time of social, economic and ecological benefits of implementing the comfortable housing projects for farmers and herdsmen. Finally, it came up with pertinent recommendations for strengthening and improving the construction of comfortable housing projects in Namling County.
