Abstract

This article has the objective to discuss the importance of the defense policyas an instrument of the national policy and in this way as a reflection area in theeconomical and social science. The defense policy in the present scene of theinternational relations is quite relevant because involves problems like thetechnological and economical development of the country. In the past thebrazilian State was concerned about this question and developed efforts in theway to build an important industrial-military complex in the country. Howeverthe changes in the national and international political life are claming a newround of discussions about this issue and it is so much opportune since this kindof studies are so incipient in Brazil until these days.
