Abstract

In this article, we consider the problem of assessing the inequality in a multivariate context, and we present an exploratory approach which is implemented in two practical situations. Firstly, several quantitative variables are simultaneously observed; considering an adapted matrix, we then extract, by means of a Singular Value Decomposition, specific summaries of inequality. Secondly, a quantitative variable and two explanatory polytomous variables are jointly observed; we then produce biplots, by means of an adapted Correspondance Analysis, describing how inequality is related to the levels of the explanatory variables.
