Total Hip Arthroplasty as a Salvage Procedure for Failed Traumatic Hips

Abstract

The failed treatment of acetabulum, neck femur and intertrochanteric femur ultimately leads to either non-union or mal-union or osteoarthritis of the hip. The operative treatment options for these failed hips are either resection or valgus osteotomy or salvage hip Arthroplasty [1-6]. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the functional outcomes, technical problems, and complications associated with total hip arthroplasty as a salvage procedure for failed hips.
