Typical Risks of a Merger and Acquisition Transaction

Abstract

At present, the Russian market of Merger and Acquisition (M&A) is developing rapidly, which makes it relevant to study, analyze, assess and manage the risks characteristic of all stages of M&A transactions. Purpose of the study. Based on an analysis of studies of classification M&A transaction risks, identify specific risks at each stage of a merger and acquisition transaction. Tasks. Perform risk analysis of M&A transactions and propose their classification. Assess the level of significance of each of the identified risks using modern methods of assessing the significance of risks of merger and acquisition transactions. Results. Based on the analysis, it was concluded that it is practical to compile a risk rating of merger and acquisition transactions by the level of their importance for effective and qualitative management in the process of implementation of merger and acquisition transactions.
