The Effects of Macroprudential Policies on The Total Loan Volume in Turkish Banking System

Abstract

With the introduction of macro prudential policies just recently, trial and error method has been applied on the effectiveness of policy instruments, which shows that there is a need for studies on macro prudential policies. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effects of macro prudential policies, which have been used since 2010 to ensure financial stability, on the total credit volume of the Turkish banking system. In this context, the total credit volume of the banking sector in Turkey, monthly data on the frequency of the January 2011-December 2018 period was estimated by using VAR analysis.
