The Impact of Global Crisis on Istanbul Stock Exchange

Abstract

Global economy is in the midst of a financial crisis that has started with the bankruptcy of mortgage firms, investment banks and commercial banks. Istanbul Stock Exchange (ISE) has been deeply impacted from the ongoing crisis. The firms that raise a por- tion of their funds from ISE will be subject to difficulties during the crisis. In this article, we will discuss on what level ISE will be affected and resist to the crisis. In conclusion, the agenda will be presented based on the analysis made in the article.
