The Promotion of Transparency and the Impact of Research on Business

Abstract

Este é o primeiro editorial que escrevo como editor da Revista de Administração Contemporânea (RAC), para um mandato voluntário com duração definida (2018-2021). Nesta oportunidade eu agradeço inicialmente à Associação Nacional de Pós-graduação e Pesquisa em Administração (ANPAD), pela confiança depositada, e à equipe que administrou as atividades da RAC nos últimos anos, sob a competente condução do Professor Herbert Kimura, editor a quem sucedo.A RAC é reconhecida no Brasil como uma das principais publicações científicas na área de negócios. Isso graças ao trabalho de todas as pessoas que têm colaborado efetivamente com o periódico, incluindo-se autores, revisores, editores, membros do conselho editorial, equipe editorial, fornecedores de serviços, e, especialmente, graças ao esforço da Anpad, que tem assumido a parcela mais expressiva dos custos de funcionamento de uma revista desse porte (ANPAD, 2017). Convém ainda destacar a colaboração do Governo Federal do Brasil, que tem apoiado financeiramente parte das atividades da revista. Espero que o comprometimento de pessoas e organizações continue sendo parte dos pilares que sustentam a RAC.Em que pese o sucesso inequívoco alcançado pela RAC nesses mais de 20 anos, desde o seu primeiro número, em 1997, uma gama de desafios a este periódico apresenta-se como algo a ser considerado. Assim como qualquer periódico comprometido com a disseminação irrestrita de conhecimento de elevada qualidade, a RAC está a par da necessidade de investimentos que permitam o seu crescimento e assegurem a sua consolidação. A esse respeito, neste primeiro editorial, decidi abordar dois aspectos: transparência e impacto da revista, tendo em vista o potencial dos mesmos representarem proxy de um conjunto mais amplo de temas relevantes para o êxito de um periódico, e da RAC, em particular.
