Digital Economy – A Premise For Economic Development In The 20th Century

Abstract

The concept of digital economy called "new economy" involves particularly modern transformation of economic activities, which is a consequence of the use of digital technologies. These in turn provide access, processing and storage of information in a way cheaper and easier. The emergence of a new economy is explained by the enhanced promotion of new products and services, the increasing importance of innovation as a phenomenon and means of economic activity and the influence of globalization process. Enormous volume of information is changing the way markets function, making possible corporate restructuring and the emergence of new opportunities for the creation and operation information of different nature.
