Estimating Adoption Behavior From Time Of Adoption Data: The Case Of Computers In California

Abstract

Time of adoption as the variable representing technology adoption is preferable to a dichotomous adopt/not-adopt variable, since it provides insight into the diffusion process and indicates intensity of adoption. This paper develops a methodology for estimating the time of adoption and applies it to computer adoption in agriculture.
