Abstract

This study analyses discrete choice behavior of farmers in rural South India using utility maximisation-rationing model. Multinomial logit results for simultaneous participation to lease-in or lease-out land, and to hire-in or hire-but labor indicate that differences in farm and family fixed factors are important determinants of these choices.
