Abstract

This article follows this approach by analyzing two complementary factors of contingency. On the one hand, it connects the spatial distribution of innovation and design functions inside firms to their corporate policy and their management style. On the other hand, the article underlines the role of strategic innovation in helping to understand the firms' territorial ties. These two factors remain undervalued in spite of their importance for the strategy and the dynamics of firms.
