Das Modell "Soziale Marktwirtschaft": Chancen im internationalen Systemwettbewerb zwischen Freier Marktwirtschaft und chinesischem Staatskapitalismus

Abstract

Die Soziale Marktwirtschaft in Deutschland als besonderer Typ der Koordinierten Markwirtschaften hat derzeit zusammen mit der Freien Marktwirtschaft einen neuen Konkurrenten im internationalen Systemwettbewerb erhalten: den Chinesischen Staatskapitalismus. Dies ist eine neue Herausforderung für den westlichen Liberalismus insgesamt. Entsprechend dem Modell von Polanyi kann von einem wellenartigen Kommen und Gehen des Liberalismus gesprochen werden. Nach großen Erfolgen der liberalen westlichen Modelle in den 1980er und 1990er Jahren zeichnet sich seit einiger Zeit jedoch ein Verfall ab, der symptomatisch durch den Brexit und die US-amerikanische Wirtschaftspolitik unter Präsident Trump beschrieben werden kann. Stattdessen ist die Volksrepublik China dabei, ihr politisches und wirtschaftliches Modell zunehmend zu propagieren. Doch ist der westliche Liberalismus wirklich am Ende? Gerade die Soziale Marktwirtschaft hat Potenziale, die weiter Hoffnung geben.
