Geringe Anzahl und Diversität bei Rohstoffbeteiligungen im Ausland

Abstract

Geopolitische Risiken und die grüne Transformation verlangen nach Resilienz und gesicherter Verfügbarkeit kritischer Rohstoffe. Die Anzahl deutscher Beteiligungen an ausländischen Bergbauunternehmen ist im vergangenen Jahrzehnt von 90 auf 22 gesunken. Die Präsenz deutscher Unternehmen beschränktsich aktuell nur noch auf Tätigkeiten in den USA. Auch auf europäischer Ebene sind deutlich weniger Unternehmen im Ausland aktiv als britische, deren Präsenz sich auf wichtige Lieferländer wie Australien, USA und Südafrika konzentriert. Auferlegte Rohstoffstrategien und - fonds der EU und Bundesregierung müssen schnell ihre Wirkung zeigen, möchte man sich von der einseitigen Abhängigkeit einzelner Rohstoffländer lösen und Lieferketten langfristig sichern.
