Abstract

Der Strukturwandel in der Weltwirtschaft schreitet im Kontext von technologischen Entwicklungen, demographischen Wandel und Globalisierung voran. Dabei haben aus ökonomischer Sicht sogenannte "Leitmärkte" eine wichtige Rolle. Der Leitmarkt-Ansatz ist von der EU-Kommission wie der Bundesregierung und den Bundesländern offiziell als Teil der Innovations- und Wirtschaftspolitik aufgenommen worden. Untersucht wird, welche Rolle Leitmärkte in Deutschland bzw. der EU in ausgewählten Sektoren haben und wie sich die zunehmende internationale Arbeitsteilung in Forschung und Entwicklung darauf auswirkt.
