Abstract

Monet vaikeudet ovat koetelleet Turkin taloutta viimeisen vuosikymmenen aikana ja talouden haavoittuvuudet ovat kasvaneet. Viime vuosina Turkissa on siirrytty erittäin kevyeen rahapolitiikkaan ja samanaikaisesti myös finanssipolitiikka on ollut elvyttävää. Talouskasvu on ollut ripeää, mutta talouden ongelmat ovat kärjistyneet entisestään. Kuluttajahinnat ovat nousseet jyrkästi, valuuttakurssi heikentynyt voimakkaasti ja vaihtotaseen alijäämä kasvanut. Vallankahvassa edelleen jatkava presidentti ja hänen puolueensa joutuvat tulevalla kaudellaan vaikeiden talouspoliittisten haasteiden eteen.
