Abstract

L'Etat est un concept flou qui cristallise pourtant l'essentiel des interrogations. Il apparaît impossible de nier le rôle de l'Etat tant il joue un rôle fondamental dans la vie des individus. Les auteurs de cette étude nous livre ici une indispensable clarification de ce phénomène. Dans cette optique, ils abordent les justifications micro et macro-économiques, politiques et sociales à l'intervention publique avant de s'intéresser aux moyens dont dispose l'Etat pour s'affranchir de ses missions. Enfin, ils analysent l'efficacité et les limites des stratégies mises en oeuvre, qu'il s'agissent des politiques de stabilisation, de régulation conjoncturelle ou de protection sociale.
